Краткий обзор фильма:
Столичный оперативник Стас Хабаров привык решать дела по-своему. Поэтому он в одиночку отправляется арестовывать крупного наркоторговца, но получает пулю в спину, так и не успев разглядеть лица нападавшего. Придя в себя, Стас с ужасом осознаёт, что умер и стал призраком. У него есть выбор – войти в открытую дверь, из которой струится мягкий яркий свет, или остаться здесь. Однако, увидев сцену из ближайшего будущего, в которой его жену Веру в её день рождения убивает тот же самый неизвестный, он решает остаться и защитить любимую женщину, которой причинил немало боли при жизни. Вот только ни Вера, ни друзья не видят Стаса, и он понятия не имеет, как подать им знак, что он здесь, рядом – пока не встречает студентку Катю, которая может и видеть, и слышать полицейского. С её помощью Стас должен докопаться до истины, узнать, кто его подставил, и остановить убийцу, пока тот не добрался до Веры.

She tells him how to get on Katya's good side: he will need to help her find the truth about her parents, and let her know that her mother did not in fact die in a fire. Having taken Samartsev's laptop instead of hers by mistake, Lilya is stunned to find on it a photo of Stas right before his death, taken by an abandoned swimming pool. Samartsev admits to Lilya that he could have intervened, but didn't.
