По пути на похороны домой, когда сильнейший шторм сотрясает самолет, ему представляется странный человек с соседнего кресла. Он называет себя мистер Среда. И он знает о Тени больше, чем кажется возможным. Он предупреждает Тень, что грядет ещё больший шторм. И ничто с этого момента, включая его самого, не будет таким, как прежде.
