Сидней, Кинг-кросс. Молодую девушку Индиану Хоуп, переходящую дорогу, сбивает автомобиль. Она попадает в больницу. В эту же ночь в небольшом рыбацком городке Роки Пойнт 23-летнюю молодую мать 2-х детей Карли Йохансен находят сброшенной с обрыва на камни.Детектив Ева Винтер берётся за расследование смерти девушки. Её напарник, детектив сержант Лаклан Маккензи подозревает, что убийство Карли связано с подобным убийством, произошедшим 8 лет назад. Ещё более загадочным дело становится, когда выясняется, что девушки дружат с детства и даже какое-то время росли в одной семье, а накануне гибели Карли они проговорили весь вечер...
