План Лорел Хили сделать карьеру в документальном кино складывается далеко не так удачно, как ей хотелось бы, из-за чего она вынуждена согласиться поработать в Конгрессе в команде ее брата — сенатора от штата Мэриленд, занимающего пост парламентского организатора фракции демократов. На новом месте девушка сталкивается сразу с двумя серьезными проблемами.
