Краткий обзор фильма:
Антуан — инженер-строитель из Парижа, чья сестра Анна погибла два года назад в теракте в Каире. Как и вся семья, Антуан до сих пор мучается чувством вины и все еще не может поверить в случившееся. Его смятение усиливает случайно увиденный по телевизору репортаж о народном ополчении курдов: на одном из кадров он видит женщину, в которой как будто узнает сестру. Но это невозможно, ведь Анна погибла во время взрыва фургона. В поисках правды Антуан отправляется в Сирию, где присоединяется к отряду курдских женщин-бойцов, которые давно и отчаянно ведут борьбу за свободу. Вместе с ними Антуан оказывается на оккупированных территориях, среди террористов, шпионов, анархистов и невинных жертв.
