Краткий обзор фильма:
Династия Чосон, 1636 год. В стране идет кровавая политическая война, половина населения стала рабами. Рабы строят планы о присоединении к армии противника, ведь с новым правителем они получат равные права и возможность достойного существования. Однажды один из рабов, принадлежащих семье молодого дворянина Ли Дэ-гиля, поджигает дом хозяина и сбегает вместе с младшей сестрой Ким Хе-вон, которая была тайной возлюбленной хозяина. В пожаре погибает вся семья кроме самого Дэ-гиля. Одержимый желанием возмездия после долгих скитаний молодой человек становится бесстрашным и знаменитым охотником на беглых рабов.
