Краткий обзор фильма:
Главная героиня Анжела Беннет является фрилансером, свободным программистом. Она специализируется на системном программировании и отчасти хакинге - отлаживает системы. Однажды она случайно оказалась в зоне интересов некой тайной и могущественной организации - преторианцев. С этого момента её жизнь превратилась в кошмар - вся информация о ней была уничтожена, банковский счёт закрыт, кредитная карта заблокирована. В довершение ко всем неприятностям, Анжелу арестовывает полиция, приняв за некую Элизабет Маркс - международную преступницу с сомнительной репутацией и большим количеством «ходок». Они забрали её сущность, а теперь хотят забрать и её жизнь. Нет никого из родных или знакомых, кто мог бы помочь или подтвердить её личность. Она осталась совершенно одна в мире, который вдруг стал совершенно чужим и враждебным. Единственное что ей остаётся - вступить в неравную борьбу с преторианцами и победить. Ну, и конечно, попутно спасти мир от гнусных преторианцев, задумавших взять под контроль весь мир. Тем более, что поле битвы очень хорошо знакомо - компьютерные сети... Компьютерные сети, конечно, виртуальные - но смерть в случае ошибки реальная.
