Тихий английский городок. Любознательная и упрямая школьница Пиппа Фитц-Амоби решает раскрыть убийство пятилетней давности. При загадочных обстоятельствах погибла 17-летняя девушка по имени Энди Белл. Главным подозреваемым в деле стал ее парень Сэл Сингх. Юношу хотели арестовать, но он лишил себя жизни.Сотрудники полиции и многие жители города считают, что именно Сэл убил Энди.
